Please find the 2021 SOY Program below. I appreciate all of your input and considered every comment when putting this program together.
I hope this program is less complicated for everyone. Assigning these value points to SOY gives your total SOY points the potential to be worth more than your state championship score.
I would definitely like to do something with different regions next year to encourage more diverse travel to smaller clubs. I felt that with everything going on right now, this would not be the best time to start that.
I understand that no program is perfect, but I think that trying different options allows us to explore what will work best for our state.
In my eyes, tournaments are there to practice against competitors. If you want to go, then you have the opportunity to go. Offering bonus points gives you the option to potentially make your SOY score count for slightly more than your championship score in the event that you don't shoot well at the championship. Not everyone is going to travel to every tournament. We are definitely lucky to have clubs all over the state willing to support archers.
Do we have to attend the event after 3 qualifiers or can I just send my registration money in advance so to keep ASA and the clubs funded to all 13 qualifiers so everyone gets their money and only shoot the one that are within realistic traveling distance. I get it to to promote every club a fair shake but, you are really just buying points. Set something up where you can register so the the club and ASA get the money but we don't have to drive 8 to 10 hours round trip just to buy 5 points. I can do that from home. This is not a negative post just the way I see it.
